A baggage handler at Reno-Tahoe International Airport, Lynn Jones, put her job on the line for the sake of a dog: She refused to load him on the plane as he was so emaciated, covered in sores and unable to stand. Her fellow airport workers were concerned that the dog would not survive the flight to Texas.

Despite their concern, the dog made it past all checkpoints. That is, until it was time to get loaded onto the plane. She refused. She says her supervisor told her to stop going on about the dog; the dogâÂÂs paperwork was in order, and she needed to do her job. She would not load the dog. Her supervisor kept yelling, Thats it, youâÂÂre done, you are out of here, go home, she said. The airport animal welfare took the hound into custody and have now nursed him back to health but it is unclear whether he will return to his owner as Nevadas privacy law prevents this. I wouldnt have traded that job for anything. I wouldnÂÂt have risked it for anything. But I just couldnâÂÂt turn my back on that dog, Jones said. My supervisor said it wasnâÂÂt my concern, but animal abuse is everyoneÂÂs concern who sees it. Well done. A brave act. I Dog we Trust There are no replies yet, why not be the first? |
