There is a whole lot of irony here. It has been reported that a hunter is recovering after being shot by his own dog on Saturday. The Merced County Sheriff's Department have said the 53-year-old man was hunting with a partner off Highway 152 near Los Banos, when he put down his shotgun to go and get his decoy ducks. The shotgun was fully loaded with the safety (apparently) on, according to authorities. The victim was about a meter away, when his female black (why the colour makes any difference...in Newshound's view is amusing) Labrador retriever stepped on the gun. Authorities said the dog somehow disengaged the safety and hit the trigger at the same time! firing a shell with #2 shot. The man was hit and wounded on the left side of his upper back. The man was treated for non-life threatening injuries and released at the hospital the same day. The irony is that many dogs get shot by hunters both accidentally and on purpose. If you play with guns....well? Here is a news item to prove the point This is Newshound signing off BANG BANG WOOF IN DOG WE TRUST There are no replies yet, why not be the first? |
