I am close to tears as I report this, as a Greyhound this breaks my heart. I have only ever met kind calm and temperate Lurchers and for a human to do this is beyond contempt.

I have just read that: Two Lurchers are recovering after being found in an "emaciated" state dumped! outside a Hampshire animal rescue centre. The male and female lurchers were discovered abandoned and curled up together in bushes by the gates of the RSPCA Ashley Heath Animal Centre. An investigation has begun into the "PROLONGED" period of cruelty suffered by the dogs, who have been named Foxy and Beth. The animals were dumped outside the centre on 27 January. Officers with the charity said the now hairless hounds, were trying to "desperately" keep warm during freezing conditions. One of the dogs was so weak it could barely stand up, the charity added. RSPCA inspector Graham Hammond said: "These poor helpless creatures were in a terrible state they were little more than skeletons covered in irritated skin when they were abandoned. "It would have taken a prolonged period without adequate food and veterinary attention for these dogs to have got into such a poor state, and then someone tried to shirk their responsibility again by simply dumping them." Pleas Please Please...if you have seen someone in the area at any time with two lurchers, and then you didn't see them for a long while, or you live near the person/people who have allowed this PLEASE CALL THE POLICE NOW...THIS MUST NEVER BE ALLOWED TO HAPPEN AGAIN !!!! Here is a film of some Lurcher's and Greyhounds that need homes. This is a very very sad Newshound signing off, and I can't even give my usual woof. IN DOG WE TRUST There are no replies yet, why not be the first? |
