Comedian Ricky Gervais has spoken out in support of a campaign to stop plans for a dog breeding farm in East Yorkshire which would supply beagles for experiments.

The multi-award winning comedian, actor and writer spoke out after being contacted on Twitter by one of his fans. He has backed other campaigns run by the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection BUAV. BK Universals plans to breed thousands of dogs in Grimston have been thwarted by East Riding Council for the moment. Communities Secretary Eric Pickles is expected to make a final decision in January.
