A well love local dog in the London NW10 area has been ATTACKED with no warning by a Staffie called Red.
Here is a mail we received from Gilbert's owner

On Wednesday 14th July at around 18:30pm at Tiverton Green (Dog Poo Park NW10) our little 7 month old Chihuahua cross Gilbert (2kg) was savagely attacked by a red Staffordshire Bull Terrier named Red. The attack was unprovoked- Red ran over to Gilbert and locked him in his jaws and then threw him around like a rag toy. Red's owner was unable to restrain her dog and by chance Gilbert was released from Red's jaw and immediately taken to a vet. Gilbert sustained severe puncture wounds to his front legs and was unable to walk for several days. We are happy to announce that it is likely Gilbert will be making a full physical recovery. There were many witnesses to the attack, but unfortunately no one was able to obtain Red's owners details. We know that the lady is local and lives near to Kilburn High Road, we have been advised that she walks her dog regularly at Kilburn Grainge Park.

Red's owner is a white lady in her mid fifties to early sixties, has a slim build and is around 5 ' 7 " tall. She has short grey hair. She was seen at Tiverton Green last year with her dog and it is believed that Red is about 2 years old. Red wears a distinctive collar that works with a remote control.

We are extremely upset about the situation as we have not heard from the lady and she has made no effort to try and find us (we are always at Tiverton Green and most people know us!). We have unfortunately been faced with a high vet bill, but we are just thankful that Gilbert is still alive. We would like Red's owner to come forward and take responsibility for her dogs actions. This could have been your dog and if you live locally it might well be.
ANY owner who is callous enough to no care what has happened to a dog attacked by theirs should no be allowed to have a dog.
WE need to bound together to help make sure this type of non-responsible dog owning is wiped out
