I have just read that People eating dog meat in China could face a fine of 5,000 yuan (GBP 450) in the country's first law against animal abuse.

As you all probably know China has an appalling track record for animal rights. My 2 legged best friend has been to china, and he told me that he went to a restaurant where the waiter said "If if flies or walks we eat it!" The draft legislation would also outlaw the consumption of cat meat, which is often served stewed with snake in a famous dish known as 'Dragon and Tiger Fighting.' YOU COULDN'T MAKE IT UP Dog is believed to have warming properties and is popular stewed with turtle. It is mostly eaten by men as a sign of macho bravado with friends, this is not always the case as you will see in the short film below. But now ancient traditions are under threat after state media considered the law would be sent to parliament in April. It would also give the authorities the power to jail people who ignored the ban for 15 days. About time!! Here is a film with British TV personality Paul Merton exploring the world of dog eating This is a film about the lack of animal rights in China DO NOT WATCH IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED If this law is passed all I can say on behalf of my Chinese brothers and sisters is: Thank Dog for That This is a very happy to be living in the UK Newshound signing off WOOF IN DOG WE TRUST There are no replies yet, why not be the first? |
