These days, we all need to save money whenever we can. While we at DODADOG certainly don't suggest you skimp on pet care, there are many ways to save money on your pet supplies and even routine medical care if you just work a little at it.

![]() Here are some DODADOG money-saving tips: Cut out and use the vouchers/coupons on pet food, treats and toys. You can cut coupons from papers and magazines and then go online to sites that offer coupons. Many manufacturers also offer coupons on their own websites, even on premium foods. Many animal shelters have low-cost vaccination clinics. You can save a significant amount of money on routine vaccines, including rabies. Sometimes you have to wait in line, but spend the time talking to other pet owners about your favorite pets. Some even offer a discounts on Micro-chipping. Shop around when choosing a dog walker. Sometimes a local small business can be cheaper than a larger company, or work with other dog owners to share the care for your dogs. Look into making your own dog food and treats. It can be cheaper in bulk, and you know what's in it. Share recipes on the site in the "Recipe" section. Don't drive to your walks, so many dog owners drive to walk their dog. You can save money on petrol and it's better for you and the dog. Try clipping your dog at home and save on pet parlour costs. Attend pet fairs and pet shows. Many of the exhibitors at these shows will give you multiple coupons. At a recent event, I received three coupons for free 4-pound bags of food that saved me 30 quid. If you need your dog spayed or neutered, most areas have at least one or two veterinarians/clinics that offer low-cost procedures. If you don't know of any in your area, contact your local blue cross or charity to see if they can recommend someone. Don't put off this important operation just because of cost, if you don't want pups. Don't waste your own food, feed this to your dog, but make sure it's not bad for him or her. If your not sure what you can give them, ask a vet or share information on DODADOG. If your pet is on regular medication, get the prescription from your vet and order medications online. When my cat was on subcutaneous fluids, I did this and was able to buy supplies at a fraction of the cost I had been paying at the vet. Even in these hard times, please make sure your Dog gets the care it needs. There are no replies yet, why not be the first? |
